Whether you are a mediator, collaborative professional (lawyer, family or financial professional) or a settlement minded negotiation lawyer, the Settlement Clinic has something for you.
Family Dispute Resolution is the hardest work you'll ever love! It requires knowledge, skills, reflective practice and self-care. The Settlement Clinic provides the resources you need to spread the word about Collaborative Practice and Mediation, to grow your Settlement Practice and to be better and better at the work you do. The Settlement Clinic offers community where you can connect and gather with like minded colleagues in personal small groups where stories, successes and frustrations can be shared and learned from.
If you are serious about wanting to have a Settlement Practice and you are ready to actually make it happen, then The Settlement Clinic's one year program is for year. You will learn strategies on how to transition your practice into a mediation or collaborative practice and you will be supported to make it happen every step of the way. For more information, see Growing your Settlement Practice. The next program starts January 2017.
If you haven't had your collaborative training yet, we offer 2 day (level 1) and 3 day (level 2) interdisciplinary Team Collaborative Training every spring and every fall. The Collaborative Team Trainers (Deborah Graham, Victoria Smith, Sheila Brown, Laurie Stein and Alison Anderson) are offering level 1 in October of 2016 and level 2 in November of 2016.
If you've had your mediation training and are in the field doing the work, it may be time to deepen and elevate your mediation skills. Deborah has joined with accredited family mediators Christine Kim and Seema Jain to launch a series of mediation workshops designed to Deepen and Elevate your Mediation Skills. The second workshop in the series is January 20, 2017 at the Granite Club, Toronto, on Bringing out the Best in Counsel and ILA Proofing your Mediations.
